Evaluation Method and Design Guidance for Direction Finding Antenna Systems

چکیده

A deterministic evaluation procedure for multi-port direction finding antennas is proposed. It based on a uncertainty parameter, which describes how well different directions of arrival and polarizations are distinguishable. By investigating simple antenna array, it shown that the proposed parameter provides additional insight into behavior an system, when compared to established methods. Moreover, since calculated from set far fields, applicable port fields as Characteristic Modes. This utilized derive design guidance: Starting with Mode angular distribution investigated verify no ambiguities present. Different sets differences regarding their visualized explained using in conjunction estimate incident field. To quantify these differences, key performance indicator introduced summarizes capabilities over selected region. demonstrate process, multi-mode three uncorrelated ports developed, manufactured measured.
